Monte Hagar

Monte Lynn Hagar, 73, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on October 15, 2026.

Born in San Angelo, Texas, Monte attended Richfield High School and Baylor University. He spent much of his life pursuing his passion for business, working alongside his family in several retail ventures, including Holts, Lake Air Records, Peppers Records, and Lanell Hagar's Christmas Store.

Monte married the love of his life, Darlene Renee Fiore, on September 6, 1975. Together, they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage and built a family he cherished deeply.

Monte enjoyed studying the Bible, golfing, watching television, and spending time with those he loved. Nothing brought him greater happiness than having his children and grandchildren together. To his grandchildren, he was lovingly known as "Paw Paw."

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Norma Lanell Hagar.

Monte is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene Hagar; sons Miles Hagar (Jenni), and Dallas Hagar (Lisa); daughters Jeanne Hagar and Chrystal Hagar; grandchildren Dayton, Brynna, Dax, Scarlet, and Luke Hagar: brother Mike Hagar (Dalia); nephews and nieces and many other beloved family members.

No services are planned. The family extends heartfelt thanks to their friends, church family, and loved ones for their kindness, prayers, and support.
