Myrna Jezek, 84, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Born on July 11, 1942, in West, Texas, Myrna was a proud graduate of West High School and Four-C Business College. During her high school years, she developed a love for horses, becoming a talented horsewoman and competitive barrel racer. She competed successfully in local and statewide rodeos.

On January 5, 1963, Myrna married her high school sweetheart, George Charles Jezek, Jr. in West, Texas. Together, they shared 63 years of marriage, building a life and family filled with love, devotion, and countless memories.

Myrna was a faithful member of Saint Louis Catholic Church, where her faith was an important part of her life.

Throughout her career, Myrna was known for her strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to serve others. Early in her career, she was the owner and operator of the local Mobil Oil service station in West. She later used her skills in accounting and secretarial work to provide valuable support to a number of local organizations and businesses, including the local Girl Scouts office, First National Bank, and Mary Kay Cosmetics.

Myrna had a heart for helping others, and in the later years of her life, she devoted more than a decade to volunteering at Ascension Providence Hospital and Baylor Scott & White Hospital. Her dedication to volunteer service was so meaningful that she eventually served as President of the Volunteer Association at Ascension Providence. She also served on the Board of Directors of the local Girl Scouts organization, giving her time and talents to causes that were important to her and her community.

Beyond her work and volunteer service, Myrna knew how to enjoy life. She looked forward to her monthly Bunco games with her friends, where laughter and fellowship were always on the agenda. In her quieter moments, she was an avid reader and movie connoisseur. She enjoyed knitting and especially cherished time at home with her beloved husband and cat, Lucy.

Myrna will be remembered for the many ways she gave of herself—to her family, her friends, her church, and her community. Her life was one of service, commitment, friendship, and love, and the legacy she leaves behind will live on through the family she treasured.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Lee Heitmiller and Irene Heitmiller; her sister, Mitzi Urbanovsky; and her brother-in-law, David Urbanovsky.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, George, her daughter, Michele Paige Guerra and her husband Frank of San Antonio and her son Keith Jezek and his wife Maribeth of Austin; her grandchildren, Walker Jezek, Weston Jezek, Audrey Jezek, Joshua Guerra, Christian Guerra, and Jack Guerra; and her great-grandchildren, Jude Jezek and Gemma Jezek.

Honorary pallbearers for the inurnment will be her grandchildren.

Myrna will be profoundly missed, deeply cherished, and forever loved.
