Nancy Karen Lynn

July 17, 1951 — August 5, 2025

Central Texas

It is with hearts full of love and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Nancy Karen Coulter Lynn, a beloved mother, sister, “Granzy”, educator, musician, and friend, who departed this life peacefully on August 5, 2025. Nancy was full of love, empathy, generosity, and grace, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Born on July 17, 1951 and raised in Moody, Texas, Nancy’s early years were filled with vibrant energy and passion. As a gifted budding pianist and vocalist, an All-District High School Basketball player and a talented Majorette, she embraced an active and joyful childhood. Growing up on a farm, she developed a deep affection for animals that extended throughout her lifetime. Her education began in Bruceville-Eddy and continued at Southwest Texas State University, culminating in a degree from Baylor University, where she laid the foundation for a fulfilling career in music and education.

On January 8, 1972, Nancy married Gary Lynn, embarking on a journey filled with love, friendship, and memories. Together, they raised two children, Amber and Adam, who carry on her legacy of love, compassion and dedication.

For 25 years, Nancy devoted herself to impacting the lives of her students as a teacher for Troy, Bruceville-Eddy, and Temple Independent School Districts. Her impact was not merely academic; she inspired countless students and fostered a sense of belonging and encouragement that they will carry in their hearts for years to come.

Nancy found sanctuary and purpose in her faith as a member of First Baptist Church in Moody, Texas. Her musical talents shone brightly as a soloist, pianist, and choir director, and she enthusiastically served as a women’s Sunday School teacher and youth volunteer at Bruceville Baptist Church. She was a guiding light for many, and she generously shared her musical gifts, enriching the spiritual lives of those around her.

Nancy's heart was always open, welcoming, and generous. She was an enthusiastic host and a faithful friend, with a rich sense of humor, always ready to join in the laughter. Throughout her life, she was quick to befriend people, bringing a fun and joyful spirit to those around her, even in her final days. Her unshakeable faith in Christ carried her through challenging times, bringing her peace, comfort, and hope.

Nancy is preceded in death by her father, Harry Orestus Coulter and her mother, Willie Merle Coulter. She is survived by her daughter, Amber Lynn Burns, and son-in-law, David Burns; her grandchildren, Aleah Karen, Bella Ann, Clara Sidney, and Alexander David; her son, Adam Lynn, daughter-in-law, Stephanie Lynn, and grandchildren, Abigail Ruth and Ava Gwen; as well as her brother, Anthony Coulter, his wife, Dalta Ann, and their children and families.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held on August 16, 2025. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM, as we gather to honor a life rich in love and generosity.
