Norma "Lanell" (Teague) Hagar

Woodway, Texas

Norma Lanell Hagar, 90, of Woodway, Texas, went home Friday, December 3, 2021.  The family will have a private graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery.

Lanell was the only child of E L and Chrystal Teague born on July 7, 1931 in Floydada, Texas.  As a child, she lived in San Francisco during World War II and made a life long friend, Joyce Burnham.  The family returned to Texas, locating in San Angelo where she met the love of her life, Howard Hagar.  The couple married November 13, 1949 and had two sons.

In 1958, the family moved to Waco, for Howards job at Cox’s department store.  In 1980, Lanell opened her own store, Lanell Hagar’s Christmas store.  She was a member of the Waco ISD school board and was past president.  She was a long-time member of Brookview Church of Christ.

Lanell enjoyed cheering on the Baylor Bears football and basketball teams as well as the Dallas Cowboys.  She was also an avid fan of her grandchildren, enjoying the time she was with them.

She is preceded in death by her parents.  Left to cherish her memories are her beloved husband of 72 years, Howard; sons, Monte and wife Darlene Hagar, Mike and wife Dalia Hagar; grandchildren, Miles, Dallas, Grant, Forrest, Jeanne, Chrystal; great grandchildren, Dayton, Brynna, Dax, Hollis, Scarlet, and Bobby.
