The Biography of Pastor Oyekunle (Kunle) ARAOYE

Pastor Oyekunle Oyeniyi Araoye, fondly known as Kunle, was a remarkable leader, engineer, and servant of God whose life was defined by excellence, integrity, and unwavering faith. Born on September 22, 1971, in Iree, Osun State to Late Pa John Oyedokun Araoye and Madam Sarah Ibidoja Araoye. Kunle’s journey was marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a deep commitment to uplifting others.

Early Life and Education

Kunle’s educational path began in Ibadan, where he attended Mofolorunso Day Care and Nursery School, St Paul’s Anglican Primary School, and Islamic High School. His academic brilliance led him to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, Oyo State in Nigeria where he earned a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering—a foundation that would propel him into a distinguished career.

Professional Excellence and Achievements

Kunle’s professional journey was a testament to his technical expertise and visionary leadership. He began as an Industrial Trainee at Aluminium Rolling Mills Limited and served as a Graduate Assistant during his NYSC at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. His early career included roles as a Management Trainee at Kolorkote Nigeria Limited and as an Electrical Engineer at May and Baker PLC, where he contributed to critical engineering projects and process improvements.

His passion for innovation saw him excel as Product Manager (Power Products) at Sparnoon Limited, before moving to Cotonou, Benin, where he left an indelible mark in the Manufacturing and Telecommunications sectors. As Project Manager at Univercell S.A and later at TEFOS S.A, Kunle led complex projects, managed cross-functional teams, and delivered unique solutions that enhanced operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

In 2017, Kunle became Technical/Project Director at Dongaco S.A, Cotonou. In this role, he was instrumental in driving strategic initiatives, overseeing major technical deployments, and mentoring a new generation of engineers. His leadership was characterized by a blend of technical acumen, humility, and a genuine desire to see others succeed.

Faith, Family, and Service

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kunle was a devoted husband to Fisayo Aramide Araoye and a loving family man. His faith was central to his life—he gave his life to Christ during his university years and became a notable member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). Serving as a parish pastor and later as an Area Pastor. Kunle was the pioneer Pastor of the Pavillion of Refuge parish of RCCG and under Kunle leadership, along with his beloved wife, the parish grew in leaps and bounds until his passing. Kunle inspired many through his dedication, compassion, and exemplary service. He was ordained Assistant Pastor in 2019 and continued to serve with distinction until his passing.Beyond his ministry, Kunle was dedicated to community service, serving as Vice Chairman of the AGM Estate, OPIC, where he lived with his family until his passing.

Interest & Pastime

Kunle was deeply passionate about spending time in prayers, diligently preparing impactful sermons, and preaching the Word of God to inspire and uplift others. He found great joy in visiting and encouraging people (friends, family, church members etc), always eager to offer support and compassion. In addition to his ministry work, Kunle was also a resourceful and enterprising individual, demonstrating keen business acumen in his entrepreneurial ventures.

Legacy

Kunle’s legacy is one of excellence, service, and faith. He was an epitome of hard work, humility and gentility; couldn’t hurt a fly! He was known for his kindness, his readiness to help others, and his passion for learning. Whether leading technical teams, guiding his church community, or spending time with family, Kunle touched countless lives and left the world better than he found it.

He will be remembered as a visionary leader, a devoted servant of God, and a cherished friend, mentor, a loving husband and a caring father. His life remains an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be sorely missed amongst family, friends, professional colleagues and the church – particularly the RCCG – Pavilion of Refuge Parish, the Gates of Zion Family and the entire Lagos Province 5, RCCG of the Favoured Family.

He is survived by his wife, children, aged mother, and other family members. May his loving soul continue to rest in peace.
