Patricia Emmaline (Hottenfeller) Peck

January 11, 1941 — December 1, 2020

Waco, Texas

Patricia Emmaline (Hottenfeller) Peck was born on January 11, 1941 to Theodore Roosevelt Hottenfeller & Clara Alice (Lann) Hottenfeller in San Antonio, TX, the 3rd of 4 children and the 3rd daughter.  Due to WWII starting later that year and because her father was an officer in the Army-Air Corps, she moved often from military base to base including stints in Waco (James Connally Army Airfield Base) & Orange County, CA (US Army & Army Reserve Ctr).  She graduated from San Marcos (TX) High School, Santa Anna Junior College (CA) and Dallas Baptist University.

Patsy (as known to friends & family) married Leonard Keith Parker in San Marcos, TX on June 22, 1962.  From that union, she had Wesley Kevin Parker (1964) & Laura Keigh (Parker) Shepherd (1968).  Leonard Keith had 2 sons from a previous marriage, John Dale & Barry Lynn.  Mom embraced her family with love and was a fantastic mother to all her children unequivocally & unconditionally.  Patsy & Keith's marriage ended in 1988 and Patsy remarried Robert Peck in 2010 and was married to him until his passing in 2018.  Patsy moved to Waco afterwards.

Mom contracted Alzheimer's Disease in 2005 & beat breast cancer in 2017, but it was during her battle with Alzheimer's that Mom defined the class with which she purported herself in any & every situation.  Family, friends, caregivers, nurses, doctors and even hospital staff always mentioned her positive attitude & outlook and the love she gave everyone.  She saw the best in everyone & treated people as such even if they had let her or her family down.  She raised people up to bring out their best even when dealing with their worst.  This was a constant throughout her life; both before & as she dealt with age & disease.

Patsy passed very peacefully at 5:40pm, Tuesday December 1, 2020 as her granddaughters & daughter-in-law held her hands.  She was never minimized or diminished by the diseases that conspired to take her life.  She slipped mortality to awaken with her Savior; disease free in a land with no disease or sorrow and only celebration.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings (June, Harriet & Sam) as well as her grandson, Patrick Shepherd.  She is survived by her son, Wesley Kevin Parker & wife Raechele, daughter: Laura Keigh & husband William Shepherd.  Grandchildren: Ashley Michele  & husband Chad O'Neal, Wesley Kevin Parker, Jr & wife Sydney, Lauren Elaine Windham, Richard James Shepherd & wife Kathy and Jason Allen Shepherd & wife Nicole as well as a great-granddaughter, Aria Parker.

Because of Covid restrictions & the great distances & vast amounts of people that Mom's life touched, her memorial will be online.  We invite you to sign her memorial & leave your favorite memory of her to share with all who loved her!  The family thanks you for being a part of her life and for all those who truly cared for her; you are appreciated & loved!  Special recognition to Baylor Scott & White Hospital's 6th floor nursing staff & chaplains that treated Mom with such love & respect during her short stay there.
