Patti Lyn Wood, born September 1, 1959, in Jacksonville, FL passed away at Royal Manor Nursing Home Waco, Texas on November 22, 2025.

In 1990, Patti married James Wood and lived in China Spring and Marlin until his death in 2011. During those 21 years she held various bookkeeping jobs while also assisting James with his entertainment services. She was devoted to caring for his four grandchildren: Alex, Drake, Jason, and Lynsey.

In 2022 Patti remarried and started a new life with Charlie Woods. She continued her bookkeeping career while living with Charlie on his chicken farm. Patti loved fresh eggs, and the roosters crow, which she said sounded like “happy birthday.” She dearly loved Charlie. They enjoyed traveling and being with their many friends. Patti and Charlie’s hospitality was always warm and welcoming. Patti and Charlies devotion to each other sustained and supported Patti during her illness.

She loved the Lord and taught by example. A favorite saying of hers was “In a world where you can be anything, be kind” (Clare Pooley).

Patti is survived by her Texas family which includes her beloved husband, Charlie Woods, mother-in-law Betty Grisham, sister-in-law Sandra Shanks.

She is also survived by her Florida family which includes three sisters, Betty (Ken) Calhoun, Irene Ward, Linda Foreman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patti was also blessed with an extended family of loving, caring friends whom she cherished. They shared her Texas life through the good and the bad times. Patti said, “The good Lord knew I needed them.”

Patti was dearly loved and will be tremendously missed.

“Family isn’t always blood; it’s the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.” Maya Angelou

“The best kind of people are the ones that come into your life, and make you see the sun where you once saw clouds. The people that believe in you so much, you start to believe in you too. The people that love you simply for being you. The once in a lifetime kind of people.” Kate Lattey
