Peggy Shelton

Peggy Gene Felder Shelton, aged 87, of Waco, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025. Born in Taylor, Texas on February 28, 1938, to Eddie Felder and Annie Maresh, Peggy was raised in Austin, Texas. She married Ronnie Shelton on December 11, 1954, and together they raised three daughters. Throughout her career, Peggy held various retail positions, including roles at Texas Gold Stamps and Yarings. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin before relocating with Ronnie to Waco, Texas in 2007, where they became members of Peace Lutheran Church in Hewitt.

Peggy enjoyed bowling where she and Ronnie bowled on various leagues. She enjoyed gardening, doing crossword puzzles, and playing games on her iPad. She was a caring and loving mother to her daughters, and was an especially devoted caregiver for her daughter Karen. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie; her parents; as well as her brothers, Bert Ehrlund, Troy Thorp, Kenneth Thorp, and Harvey Thorp; and sisters, Dolores Jones, Teresa Borders, and Tommie Blakeway.

Peggy is survived by her brother P.B. Thorp; daughters Karen Shelton, DeeAnn Matoska, and Rhonda (and husband Darrell Pietsch); grandchildren Ashley (and husband Bobby Whitt), Anthony Matoska, Alan Matoska (and wife Maryann), Haley (and husband Shafer McAlister), Madison, Hayden, and Jordyan Pietsch; great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Piper, Tatum, Dawson, Mitchell, Lilly Belle, and Greer; and many nieces and nephews.
