Richard Oneal Peeples, lovingly known as Ricky, was born on December 4, 1944, in Drew, Mississippi. He passed away peacefully in Gatesville, Texas, on February 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, hard work, and cherished memories.

Richard dedicated over forty years to his craft, proudly owning and operating Peeples Drywall and Insulation Company, where his expertise and commitment shone through every project. A graduate of University High School in Waco, Texas, class of 1962, Richard cultivated not only his skills in the construction realm but also his vibrant personality, which became a cornerstone of who he was. Known for his charisma and sense of humor, he had a talent for bringing smiles to everyone around him.

For more than 15 years, Richard delighted residents at numerous nursing homes and retirement centers throughout the greater Waco area by sharing his love for music. His guitar and piano performances, alongside his heartfelt singing, provided joy and warmth to many, a testament to his giving spirit and his love for entertaining.

Beyond the world of drywall and music, Richard was passionate about riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, connecting with nature and the thrill of the ride. He proudly served as president of the JayCee's and held the position of President of the HOT Builders Association in 2005, showcasing his commitment to his community and the friendships he fostered along the way.

Richard will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Carolyn, and his daughters, Teri Covey and David Stewlow, Tammatha Peeples Redman and husband Tommy, and Shelli Rosenkranz and husband Andy; Son, Blake Padgett and wife Cecilia. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Brittany Plotkin and husband Martin, Ashli Rosenkranz, as well as four great-grandsons. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Peeples-Lee and husband Glen Hofen, and his step-brother, Billy Pruitt and wife Carol.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Archie Eugene Peeples and his wife Weecie Peeples Kuykendall , his mother, Katherine Louise Wilson and her husband Paul Z. Kemp, his brother, Bobby Gene Peeples, half-brother Donnie Peeples.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home & Crematorium, located at 8220 Woodway Dr, Woodway, TX 76712. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor the remarkable life of a man who touched so many, leaving behind a heartwarming legacy of love, laughter, and music that will resonate in our hearts forever.
