Robert Dale Green, beloved husband, father, brother, son, and friend, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 26, 2025, in Waco, Texas. Born on May 30, 1968, Rob spent his early childhood growing up with his family, grandparents and a large extended family in Michigan. Rob then moved with his family to San Diego, California in 1980. After working in construction for several years following high school, Rob obtained his degree in Graphic Arts and began his graphic arts journey as an independent contractor until 2007. He then joined the staff at the University of California at San Diego as a Multi-Media Specialist from 2007 to 2021. Rob then moved to Clifton, Texas in 2021 with his wife, Eva, where he worked for the Windham School District in Gatesville teaching graphic arts to women incarcerated in the Texas prison system. Rob loved his position with Windham and took great pride with every single success of his students.
Rob loved to travel and was fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel to most of the states in the US and also traveled to London, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Spain. He once backpacked around Europe on his own. He was always up for a new adventure, or trying new things. Rob also loved music and it was one of his biggest pleasures. He was a skilled guitarist, playing bass guitar for a few small bands in San Diego over the years. Another love in his life was the challenge to find the best coney dog, which was for him, was happily never-ending.
Rob truly was truly a special man. He was kind, funny, generous, and always happy to pass time just visiting and chatting. He genuinely cared about others around him. He enjoyed seeing other people around him happy. The outpouring of love after his passing was genuinely appreciated by his grieving family. He was very much loved by his family, friends, church family, co-workers and students, who he equally loved. He will be truly missed and will always be remembered for his good-natured personality, his caring, his quick smile, and his endless jokes.
Rob is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Eva Marie Green, and their beloved daughter, Hannah Isabelle Lemberg, in addition to his step father, Jerry Unterkoefler and wife Debra Warriner of Harlingon Texas, and his siblings, Richard Green of McGregor, Texas, Kimberly Green Falahat and partner Steve Homorodean of Roanoke, Texas, and Joni Green Lewis and husband Brian Lewis of Woodway, Texas. Rob is also survived by his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bradley and partner Robert Broadbelt of Los Angeles, and many loving nieces and nephews – Justin Woline, wife Megan, and sons Nico Green and Connor Green of Harrison, Michigan, Shane Green and his daughter Avery Green of Waterford, Michigan, and Angela Green and partner Tommy Gooden and their children, Lily Philipe, Skylar (JoJo) Gooden, and Wyatt Gooden of McGregor, Texas.
Preceding in passing was Rob’s mother, Patricia Lois Unterkoefler of Clifton, Texas, in March of 2022, and his father, Larry Doyle Green of San Diego, CA, in 2022. Also preceding were his Grandparents Charles Franklin Green and Sarilda “Sy” Green of Waterford, Michigan and Grandparents Alice “Mickey” Hileman and Lewis Hileman of La Mesa, CA.
Rob gave the glory for all his successes and talents to God. He understood that all good things come from above. He gratefully gave his life to our Lord Jesus Christ, with whom he is now rejoicing in heaven for eternity.
