Ronnie, 79, Of Oglesby, Texas passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of June 14th with his wife by his side. Family to have a private Interment. A Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.

Ronnie was born on June 29th, 1944, to Carl Wright and Mary Ritchie in Waco, Texas. He attended and graduated from Oglesby ISD in 1962. He married Barbara Jean Hamilton on January 15th, 1965, at the West Main Church of Christ in Gatesville, Texas. They had two boys together. Matthew Jefferson born in October 1965 and Will Houston born in August 1973.

Ronnie grew up and then helped run Arrowhead Ranch. You could find him out in the pasture on his blue Ford tractor, or with a line of cattle behind his black Ford ranger. Ronnie was known for being a very slow driver, so if you saw dust behind his wheels it meant it was urgent!

Ronnie had many hobbies and interests including, Ranching, Airplanes, History, and Bigfoot. One of his favorite things to research was Aliens and UFOs. He once planned a family trip to Roswell, NM for the annual UFO festival in July of 1997. Ronnie received his pilot's license before he ever got his driver's license at the age of 16. He kept his prized Cessna 120 Tail Dragger at the airport in Gatesville, Texas. Ronnie and Barbara became members of the Confederate Air Force. After joining all male members were given the title of Colonel. This is where he received his beloved nickname used by grandkids, friends, and colleagues. While a part of the CAF he participated in many air shows around Texas and Louisiana.

He worked for Central Freight Lines as a truck driver for 33 years. After he retired from Central Freight, he took on his most prized role. He became a bus driver for Oglesby ISD for 10 years. He was loved by all the students and staff.

He was a man of tough exterior, but a heart of gold. He always had a Dr. Pepper can in one hand and a Swisher Sweet in the other. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his Wife of 59 years, Barbara Jean. They had known each other since 5 years of age where they went to and started Moody ISD together. His two sons, Matt and wife Laura Wright, Will and wife Hope Wright. Four Grandchildren, Arielle and husband Cordero Mainez, Jordan and husband Jonathan Beard, Jarrod Wright, and John-David and wife Fallon Warren. Sisters Charlotte and husband Larry Weiss, Eva Bradford. Brother-in-law Joe and wife Diane Hamilton. 11 Great Grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. His lifelong best friends of 60 plus years, Charles and Sharon Clemons. And his most loyal canine companion Goober.

We want to extend a Special Thank you to the Bluebonnet Health Services and Hospice team. Especially Julie and Christina for your love and care towards Colonel during this time.
