It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosemary Dunn Sims, who peacefully left this world at her home on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Born on July 27, 1936, in Abilene, Texas, to Dorothy (Cornelius) Hagan. She was a loving mother, dedicated to her family.
Rosemary's funeral service will be 11 am on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, followed by interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
She moved to Waco in 1957, where she found joy in decorating homes for her first husband, Jack, and their son, Gary. Her genuine kindness and warm personality meant she never met a stranger. An animal lover, Rosemary adored her faithful canine companion, Ruby.
She is now at peace, reunited with her late husband, Arthur Wayne Sims, and other precious family members who have passed before her, the father of her children, Jack Dunn; her mother, Dorothy Hagan; grandmother, Jimmy Kate Davis, affectionately known as “Big Mama”.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Gary Don Dunn and wife Debbie, Larry Dunn and wife Kathryn, Leann Dunn, Kelly Townsend and husband Mike; cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Dunn, David Dunn, Jeff Dunn, Jake Williams, and great-grandchildren, Tyler Dunn and Brittany Dunn, will carry on her legacy of love and warmth. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the devoted caregivers, Christi, Lisa, Debby, Jane, Karen, Sheila, and Stephanie, for their compassionate support. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Meals on Wheels, as a tribute to Rosemary's generous spirit. Let us come together to honor and celebrate the life of this remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many.
