Ruben Ramirez Martinez, Sr.

Ruben Ramirez Martinez, Sr. passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends. A time of visitation with the family will be Monday, March 11, 2024, from 6-8 PM with a memorial service following the next morning Tuesday, March 12, 2024, beginning at 11am at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Alvan Jacob officiating.

Ruben Ramirez Martinez, Sr. was born September 12, 1949, in Robstown, Tx to Ramon, Sr. & Sara Ramirez Martinez. Ruben grew up with 4 brothers and 5 sisters and was second oldest of the bunch.

After moving to Waco as a child Ruben excelled at playing basketball, baseball , softball, and bowling, winning many trophies and awards along the way. He loved to fish and dance and spending time barbecuing with his boys, Ruben, Jr. and Christian. He was a member Waco Missions Club and worked for Freddys Glass in Waco for many years.

Ruben, Sr. is preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Sara Martinez, brothers Ramon, Jr., and Robert Martinez.

Ruben, Sr. is survived by his sons Ruben, Jr., and Christian Ramirez Martinez. Two grandchildren; Keathon and Genisis Martinez and 1 great grandchild. 5 sisters, Rita Regalado, Susie Martinez, Marylou Banda, Lupe Cooper and Gloria Muñoz and 2 brothers, Richard J. Salinas and Adolph Muñoz, Jr.
