He never met a stranger and always had a lending hand to offer to his friends. He was full of life, love and laughter which is a legacy that continues to live today in his children and their children.

Rufus was married to Judy Ann Brinegar in November 1962 and spent the next 46 years being a loving , providing husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Judy, sons and daughter-in-law; Bruce and Debbie Stewart, Curtis and Kimberly Stewart, Joe and Michelle Stewart, and Brian Stewart, Daughter and Son-in-law; John and Sunny Lawrence.
