Santos Rodríguez Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and respected businessman, passed peacefully from this life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, unwavering faith, and enduring love. Born in Muzquiz, Coahuila, México, Santos built a life rooted in family, faith, and a steadfast dedication to his craft.
Santos is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Alicia Rodríguez, who was his partner in every sense—sharing dreams, challenges, and the joys of raising their family. Together, they cultivated a home grounded in faith, generosity, and tradition. He is also survived by his children: son Santos Jr. and his wife Alice Rodríguez; son Rene and his wife Lorena Rodríguez; daughter Veronica Rodríguez; and daughter Sonya and her husband Danny Treviño. He was an amazing grandpa or as his family knew him “Pop” to nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren soon to be thirteen, each of whom brought him joy and happiness.
With a remarkable work ethic, Santos devoted his life to owning and operating Santos Paint & Body Shop in Waco, Texas for over 38 years. His business was more than just a livelihood—it was a testament to his skill, dedication, and reputation for honesty. His customers knew him not only for his craftsmanship, but for his kindness, integrity, and willingness to lend a helping hand. Over the years, he earned the trust and respect of his community, his legacy will continue for many more years to come.
At home, Santos found his greatest joy in time spent with his family. He was a man of gentle humor, warm presence, and quiet strength. Whether gathering for celebrations, sharing meals, or simply spending time together, he made every moment meaningful. His stories, wisdom, and guidance will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.
Santos’ strong faith in God served as the foundation of his life. In moments of joy and hardship, he trusted in his faith to guide and sustain him. He taught his family the importance of prayer, gratitude, and devotion, leaving them with a spiritual legacy that will be carried forward for generations. He knew he was going home to be with God and rejoice with the angels when the time came.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Andrea Rodríguez; his brothers Pancho, Momo, and Chema; and his beloved grandson, Justin Guerra. Santos Rodríguez Sr. will be deeply missed, but the love he shared and the example he set will forever remain in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
His memory lives on in the lives he touched, the family he nurtured, and the work he poured his heart into throughout his life. He was amazing husband, father, pop, brother, uncle and friend. After 77 beautiful borrowed years with him, his family will carry on his name and legacy forever.
