Savanah Marie Reynoso, 30, left us to be with God on April 23, 2024. After a relentless six year battle with metastatic breast cancer Savanah chose to leave on her own terms, completely at peace and in no pain; she was surrounded by her family in her own home.
On December 1, 1993 Savanah was born to her amazing mother, Nancy, and instantly became Angelica’s little sister. She attended elementary through high school in McGregor, TX, and graduated from McGregor high school with honors. Among other things, Savanah enjoyed volleyball, track, basketball and cheerleading. Savanah was the first in her family to attend college. In 2016 she graduated from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in management. After college she began her career in the banking industry working as a teller.
Just two years after graduating college at the early age of 24 Savanah was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. The devastating news crushed her dreams and redirected her life. Instead of complaining about the lot she’d been given, Savanah took control and created a truly beautiful life from it. She participated in events all across the country. One of her proudest moments was when she was asked to walk in New York Fashion Week for Ana Ono. She was also an advocate with several non profit organizations and spoke on various panels. Wanting to bring comfort to others she dedicated much of her spare time to crafting handmade earrings which she gifted to women who shared stories similar to hers. Savanah’s story and even some of her own written work have been published in in magazines, online publications and her own social accounts which have garnered a large following. She was an extremely strong individual who overcame the worst and lived fearlessly.
After a 10 year relationship with the love of her life she married Bertin Reynoso Jr.. On March 19, 2022 She enjoyed the grand wedding of her dreams. Savanah and Bertin were very happy together and were proud dog parents to their two beautiful wiener dogs Rocky and Minnie. Savanah enjoyed movie nights at home with her husband and taking him to shop for makeup at Ulta, her favorite place. Savanah loved celebrating birthdays and holidays, Christmas was her favorite, and she always dreamt of going to New York City for Christmas. She did. She loved to travel and went many places, but always drug her husband back to NYC, returning enough times to lose count.
Along the way Savanah made some amazing friends who stuck by her until the end, many from as early as elementary. She loved all of them dearly, but her closest friend was her mother. Savanah clung to her mother from the time she was born; the two were inseparable and at times indistinguishable. They talked every day and knew each other’s silliest secrets. They were best friends, the kind that can only be separated by one thing. Savanah took a large piece of her mother when she passed, but left her with with 30 wonderful years of memories together.
Welcoming Savanah to her heavenly home are her grandfather Johnnie Kay, aunt Norma Kay cousins Joey, Zane and David.
The family she leaves behind includes her husband Bertin Reynoso Jr., parents Brandon and Nancy Kinnear, sister Angelica Ponce, grandmother Maria Severa Kay, and many Aunts Uncles and Cousins who were very special to her. Family was very important to Savanah. She always said that was where her strength came from. Those that knew her the closest know that this is by no means a full accounting of Savanah Reynoso. She was a loving caring and vibrant human being who could never be described fully in such a short format.
Per her wishes Savanah’s family will retain her earthly remains and a memorial will be held. The memorial service will be at Grace Gardens in Waco, TX May 3, 2024 at 11:00am with dinner to follow at 5:00pm in McGregor, TX at the venue known as 5J.
