Shirley Ann Lewis passed away peacefully on February 11, 2024. A visitation will be Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 5 to 7pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 11:00am, Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Shirley was born on April 7, 1939, to Benjamin Franklin Gierth and Mabel Gierth. Shirley's journey began in Marlin, Texas where she grew up and received her education. She graduated from Marlin High School.

One of the most significant moments in Shirley's life was June 28, 1957 when she married her beloved husband, Erbie Glenn Lewis. Their love story started at Perry Methodist Church in Perry, Texas and blossomed into a lifelong partnership. Together they weathered life's joys and challenges for almost seven decades.

Family was incredibly important to Shirley. She treasured the moments spent with her loved ones. Shirley's faith played a vital role in her life. She was a member of Speegleville Baptist Church where she found solace, and a sense of community.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin Gierth and Mabel Gierth, as well as her brother, John Ben Gierth.

Shirley Lewis leaves behind her loving husband Erbie Glenn Lewis. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Glenn and Leslie Lewis of China Spring. Her grandsons Taylor Laine Lewis of Lemoore, CA and Preston Avery Lewis of Waco, Shirley's family also extends to her sister and brother-in-law Bennie and Jim Martin of Waco, Her sister Darlene Scott of Leakey, Texas, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Earl and JoAnn Weizer of Clear Lake, Texas, and sister-in-law Irene Lewis of Watuaga, Texas.

As we say our final goodbyes to Shirley Lewis, let us honor her memory by embodying the same love and kindness that she shared.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Baylor Scott and White Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Speegleville Baptist Church.
