Stanley Higginbotham passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 after a brief battle with lung cancer. Stanley was born June 25, 1952 in Natchez, Mississippi to Earl & Nena Higginbotham. A visitation with the family will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Bluebonnet Parlor.
Stan’s family moved to Texas in 1960. Stan attended Midway High School. Stan was known as a perpetual student. Stan would read encyclopedias, cover to cover, A to Z. If you asked him a question about anything, he would have an answer. Stan was an avid non-fiction reader. Stan enjoyed fishing, picking a guitar, gardening, and he was a man of many talents. However, he chose a life of a trucker. Stan would transport things all over the U.S. He even transported zoo animals, the San Diego Zoo held a special place in his heart. Stan loved baseball and could tell you all about America’s pastime.
Stanley was preceded in death by his father and mother, Earl and Nena Higginbotham, and brothers, Clay and Duke Higginbotham.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Christy, daughter Dawn Cox and husband Brad of Valley Mills, son Jeremy and wife Renee of China Spring, son Adam and wife Stephanie of Austin, son Robert and wife Kate of Austin, grandchildren Alison, Garrett, Clay, Jordan Jackson, Benjamin, Madelyn, 2 great-grandchildren, sister Sandy Hill and husband John of China Spring, stepdaughter Patricia Bailey, stepson Joshua Schlasman and wife, Diana, stepson Hayden Saucedo, and other family members.
