It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Stephen Glaze, a cherished husband, father, pawpaw, brother, and friend, who departed this life on August 8, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on July 5, 1961, in Waco, Texas, to Kenneth Sr. and Wanda Leutwyler Glaze, Stephen lived a life rich in love, laughter, and adventure, leaving behind a legacy that will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.
A proud graduate of Lorena High School, Stephen married his beloved wife, Delia Bermea, on June 3, 1994, in Waco. Together, they built a beautiful family, nurturing a home filled with warmth and joy. Stephen worked as a dedicated maintenance technician at Mars Wrigley for 11 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his colleagues. As a valued member of Faith Temple Baptist Church in Lorena, Texas, Stephen treasured his faith and the close-knit community that shared in his life’s journey.
Stephen took immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, including fishing and hunting, often relishing weekends spent surrounded by family and friends in the great outdoors. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Sr.; nephew, Justin Miller; and his beloved grandparents, Beecher and Eva Leutwyler, Cecil and Johnnie Glaze. Stephen's spirit lives through his devoted wife, Delia; daughters Anna and husband Brian, Stacie, Ashley and husband Amancio; son, Stephen Glaze, Jr.; loving mother, Wanda Glaze; brothers Ken Jr. and wife Betsy, Gary and wife Sandra; sisters, Susan and husband Stuart, Christy and husband Stan, and Lisa. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, Noah, Eva, Wendell, Jaelyn, Silas, Aydan, Carson, and Avi, along with numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of dear friends.
In honor of Stephen's life, a memorial service will be 2:30 PM, Friday, August 15, 2025, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, to celebrate his journey and the love he shared, with Livestreaming on his obituary page. Family and friends are invited to join in this reflection of a life well-lived. An inurnment will follow at Stanford Chapel Cemetery in Lorena, allowing Stephen’s spirit to join the great outdoors he loved so dearly.
Pallbearers will include those closest to Stephen, while honorary pallbearers will encompass his beloved grandchildren and cherished friends: Curtis Poteet, Clint Farmer, Joe Eyth, Wade Horne, Robert Marek, and David Dees.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the friends, family, and caring communities of Texas Oncology and Mars Wrigley, whose support has been a source of strength during this difficult time. As we honor the memory of Stephen Glaze, we celebrate the love that will forever bind us, knowing he now finds peace in the embrace of eternity.
