Theodora Todd, 68, of Moody, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Theodora was born on March 12, 1958, in Reykjavík, Iceland, to Sveinn Thormodsson and Dagfridur Petursdottir. She was immensely proud of her Icelandic heritage, carrying the traditions and spirit of her homeland with her throughout her life. In 2000, she proudly became a United States citizen, embracing her adopted country while always keeping a special place in her heart for Iceland.

On May 17, 1975, Theodora married the love of her life, Robert Todd, in Reykjavík, Iceland. Shortly afterward, the young couple made their home in Texas, where they built a life filled with family, friendship, hard work, and countless memories. They shared 46 years of marriage before Robert’s passing.

Theodora was a woman who believed in working hard, loving deeply, and being there for the people around her. She graduated from Temple College in 1998 with an Associate of Applied Science degree. She went on to spend 24 years working for Texas Instruments in Temple, where she formed many lifelong friendships. She later worked for Solectron in Austin, which was eventually acquired by Flextronics, for another 23 years before retiring in 2021. Wherever she worked, Theodora left behind not only a strong work ethic but friendships that lasted long after the workday ended.

Her faith was an important part of her life. Theodora loved attending First Methodist Church of Moody and found particular joy in volunteering with the Moody First Methodist Food Pantry. Helping others was simply part of who she was, and she gave her time generously to her church and community.

Outside of work and church, Theodora found happiness in the simple things that made life beautiful. She loved camping, fishing, traveling, and going to the beach. She enjoyed working outside in her garden and tending to her chickens. She was an accomplished knitter who especially enjoyed making Icelandic wool hats, keeping a cherished connection to the traditions of her homeland.

But perhaps her greatest joy was her family. Theodora treasured time with her grandchildren and loved being part of their lives and activities. Whether painting, working on puzzles, baking, or cheering them on from the sidelines at their sporting events, she was happiest when she was making memories with them. Her love, laughter, encouragement, and presence will remain woven into the lives of those she leaves behind.

Theodora was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Robert Todd; and her parents, Sveinn Thormodsson and Dagfridur Petursdottir.

She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward, including her siblings, Alda Sigurdardottir and husband Bodvar, Sveiney Sveinsdottir and husband Karl, Thormodur Sveinsson and wife Linda Sue, Bragi Sveinsson, Kristin Sveinsdottir Strickland and husband Tom, Sigridur Sveinsdottir Steria and husband John, and Hordur Sveinsson and companion Helga; her daughter, Dorothy Sanders and husband Sean; her son, Ryan Todd and wife Crystal; grandchildren Caitlyn Ashley and husband Chris, Bryant Sanders, Addyson Todd, and Tyler Sanders; and great-grandchildren Kynzleigh Ashley and Kayson Ashley. She is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Theodora’s life was a beautiful bridge between two worlds. She carried the heritage of Iceland in her heart while making a lasting home and a meaningful life in Texas. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, faithful friend, dedicated employee, caring church member, and generous servant to her community. Her life was made up of the people she loved, the work she gave herself to, the traditions she cherished, and the everyday moments she knew were worth savoring.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Woodway, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at First Methodist Church of Moody in Moody, Texas.

The family wishes to honor Theodora’s generous spirit by asking that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Moody First Methodist Food Pantry.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Caitlyn Ashley, Bryant Sanders, Addyson Todd, Tyler Sanders, Kynzleigh Ashley, and Kayson Ashley.
