Vicki Marie
Ash
February 19, 1953 — June 22, 2026
Vicki Marie Brown Ash passed away peacefully at her home in Moody, Texas, on June 22, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on February 19, 1953, in Waco, Texas, Vicki was a beloved presence in both her community and the hearts of all who knew her.
A true country farm girl at heart, Vicki lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and compassion. She worked for many years as a custodian, serving the students and staff of Moody Independent School District before retiring from Lorena Independent School District. She took pride in her work and the friendships she made along the way.
Vicki loved her family fiercely, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a compassionate spirit and was always willing to help anyone in need without hesitation, never asking for anything in return. Known for her big heart, feisty personality, and spunky sense of humor, Vicki had a special way of making people feel welcome and loved.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures and dearly loved her horses, chickens, and pugs. Whether caring for her animals, sharing stories with family, or enjoying an occasional game of dominoes with her children, Vicki treasured every moment spent with those she loved.
Her presence at gatherings, her thoughtful guidance, and her keen ability to listen will be fondly missed by all whose lives she touched. Though her passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, her legacy of kindness, generosity, resilience, and unconditional love will live on for generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merle Ash; son, Matthew Ash; great-granddaughter, Evelyn; parents, William and Mina Brown; and most of her siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, William Ash and wife Joy, and Michael Ash and wife Charlotte; grandchildren, Alex, Sammi, Hayley, Shianne, and M.J.; great-grandchildren, Ava, Jonah, K.J., Ensley, and Rip; her twin brother, John Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As Vicki is laid to rest, she will be remembered not only for the love she shared and the wisdom she offered, but also for her strong spirit, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her gentle presence and the countless lives she touched will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Vicki's life will be held at a later date.
