V. Mark Embry, 69, of China Spring, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025. at his home surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous, year long battle with Leukemia. A Celebration of Life will be 10 am, Saturday, November 15th, at Grace Gardens with Rev. Terry Graham, former Executive Pastor of First Baptist Church Woodway officiating.
Mark was born February 15, 1956 in Dallas, TX to Helen and Victor Embry. The Embry’s were a military family and moved frequently during Mark’s growing up years, living in Texas, Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania and California. Even as a young child, Mark enjoyed the outdoors and loved exploring, fishing and hunting and never lost that love of the outdoors. Later in life he learned to love the mountains, especially the Great Smoky Mountains. He had a competitive nature and was a natural athlete. Mark enjoyed almost all sports playing softball and tennis competitively all through school and beyond. He especially loved Baylor Men’s Basketball and was great at arm chair coaching.
Mark met the love of his life, Carol Ann Neidigh, during high school in California. They were married on April 12, 1975. They celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 12, 2025.
Mark held a BA from Dallas Baptist University and an MBA from Baylor University. He was a devoted and traditional family man who always put God first and his family second and instilled traditional values into his two sons. He especially adored his grandchildren, Anduin, Silas, Reagan and Madison.
He was preceded in death by his father Victor Ray Embry.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Embry, two sisters, Terri and Lisa, his wife, Carol, two sons Nate and Brian and four grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Community Healthcare of Texas, Tyler Jones Physical Therapy and the staff at McClinton Cancer Center in Waco and BSW Temple.
