Virginia Swearengin

December 16, 1936 — March 24, 2023

Virginia Rose Davis Jaynes Swearengin of Waco, passed away on March 24, 2023, after a brief struggle with her heart.  Services will be at 1:30pm. Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Scott Rhodes.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Ginger was born on December 16, 1936, in Marlin, Texas to Cartha and Irene Davis.  She had a sister, Carol Ann Tomchesson, and brother Jimmie Earl Davis.  Growing up in Marlin, Ginger was a high school cheerleader, and very active socially.  She met Durway Jaynes in Waco and they married on February 10, 1956.  They had three girls, Cindy, Lynne and Libby.

She was a wife, Mother and homemaker, raising her three girls with Durway for 30 years, with their love of fishing, camping and gardening as a family for many years, until his passing in 1986.  She has 7 grandkids, and 12 great grandkids.  She married Ken Swearengin in 1988 and had a wonderful life with him and his family, and he was much loved to all of her family.  He passed in 2004.  She was blessed with two wonderful partners in life.

She loved, fishing, camping, antique-ing, reading books, and vegetable gardening.  She never met a stranger.  She met life-long friends wherever they moved, and are still friends to this day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cartha and Irene Davis, brother Jim, husband Durway, and husband Ken, and her brother-in-law Albin Tomchesson.  She loved her many nieces, nephews, and their families.

She is survived by her three girls, Cindy Miller and husband Randy, Lynne Tilley and husband John, and Libby Heston and husband Barry; her grandchildren Jake Miller, Brandi Breaux, Johnny Tilley, Jim Tilley, Mallory Rothstein, Kyle Heston, Tyler Heston, Tinsley Heston.

Great-grandchildren:  Bradley Miller, Dylan Breaux, Ava Miller, Zoe Rothstein, Savannah Rothstein, Natalie Breaux, Sean Breaux, Ella Breaux, and Cameron Breaux, Logan Tilley, Gracie Tilley, Jett Tilley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Miller, Johnny Tilley, Jim Tilley, Bradley Miller, Tinsley Heston, and Dylan Breaux.

The family would like to extend special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and caregivers that attended her; as well as all her church family and friends, who all provided so much love and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
