Waylon Roberts was born on June 14, 1952, in Odessa, Texas. One of three children born to Johnny and Doris Roberts, he was raised in the Permian Basin with his sisters Ginger and Melinda.  Waylon was so proud to be from Odessa.  Like many Texans, he developed a huge love for the game of football at an early age.  He graduated from Odessa Permian High School, got married, and had two children, John Wesley and Jennifer.

Years later he was divorced and moved to the DFW area.  He worked as a member of the security team for the Dallas Cowboys.  He loved the Dallas Cowboys and spent many years working for "America's Team."  He met so many fascinating players and coaches along his journey and his home was always decorated with autographed memorabilia.  He definitely shared the love of the Dallas Cowboys with his parents.  Both of their houses gleamed in blue and silver.

In Dallas, he got married and had two more children, Amanda and Shawn.  An interesting fact about his children is that all four of them are exactly three years apart.  Waylon spent a few years living in Grand Prairie.  He enjoyed coaching soccer, spending time with his children, watching the Dallas Cowboys and the outdoors.  He always enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies.  His favorite was deer and dove hunting and tried to go every year.  He was also an avid bowler and participated in several bowling leagues.

Ten years later, he was divorced and moved to Granbury.  He was married for a few years and continued to work in the security field and as a part of a private investigator team.  He was preceded in death by his third wife.  After her passing he moved to the Austin area and worked on the security team for Facebook.  He loved to ride motorcycles and his favorite of all time was his Honda Goldwing.

His final move was to Hewitt, right outside of Waco.  He spent the last few years there living with his youngest son.  He continued to work for security and got the opportunity to work at some interesting places and meet some amazing people including his favorite the Cameron Park Zoo.  He loved to go watch Amanda and Shawn coach soccer and watch his granddaughter Madison play.  He always enjoyed talking to his children and hearing stories about his grandkids.  He continued to go fishing and hunting with some of his buddies.  He also loved his dog Budweiser "Buddy" Roberts, who was named because he looks like a Clydesdale.

Waylon was a hard worker, always enjoyed helping people, loved being around people and was full of life.  He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Doris Roberts.

Survivors include his children John Wesley, Jennifer, Amanda, and Shawn; grandkids: Blake, Devon, Isabella and Madison, and several great grandkids.
