Zava Koelzer, born on February 21, 1934 in Corpus Christi, Texas, peacefully passed away on February 20, 2024, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital. She graduated from Waco High School and dedicated her life to her family and community. Zava was married to John E. Hill, Sr. until his passing, and later found love again with Joseph Koelzer, whom she married in November 1989.

A seamstress by trade, Zava's talents were only matched by her spunk and outspokeness . She was actively involved in her children's school PTA and was a devoted member of the 1st Church of Christ, Scientist. Zava found joy in simple pleasures like sewing, reading, and baking, hobbies that brought comfort and warmth to her loved ones.

Zava was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, John Hill, Sr. and Joseph Koelzer, her son William Hill, and son-in-law Mike Roberts. She is survived by her children John and Sandy Hill, Kathy Roberts, Sherri and Roger Hayes, Andy and Amanda Hill, and Patricia "Dolly" and Darrell Powell. She leaves behind a total of thirty eight grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private service to honor Zava's memory will be held at a later date, allowing friends and family the opportunity to come together and celebrate her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Waco Humane Society, a cause that was close to Zava's heart. May her spirit of compassion and love live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
