Alberto Siañez, 84, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on December 24, 2020 at home surrounded by his loved ones and his beloved wife. A visitation will be 10-11 AM, Friday, January 1, 2021, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. A catholic mass and funeral will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2021, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Waco, Texas.

Alberto was born on April 10, 1936, in El Paso, TX to Hortencia Siañez and Leigh Keller. Growing up he was a shoeshine boy and delivery boy for a department store. At the age of 17 with his mother’s permission he joined the United States Marine Corps. in 1953 and was stationed in San Diego, California. After leaving the Marine Corps., he drove a city bus for the City of El Paso. In 1967 he began his career as a Government Employee at Fort Bliss, Texas. During this time as a federal employee, he worked on the Sargent York Tank, the Army’s first HUMVEEs, and at Ft. Bliss Army Air Field with fighter jets. He created the warning sticker on the back of semi-trucks warning driver’s that semi-trucks make wide right turns, for the Department of Transportation. He received many accolades and awards for his service. Alberto retired in 1993 after 26 years of civil service.

He loved to help others and his community. He was a member of the El Paso Lion’s Club and played Santa Claus for several years for the underprivileged children in downtown El Paso. He enjoyed working on cars, woodworking, going to Las Vegas, singing Mariachi Music, and spending time with friends. He especially loved and enjoyed his grandchildren whom he adored.

He is preceded in death by his father Leigh Keller and his mother Hortencia Siañez. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Guadalupe E. Sianez, his daughters Guadalupe S. Goodman and Felicia A. Wright, Son-in-Laws Jeffrey T. Goodman and Command Sargent Major Jason P. Wright (Ret. Army), His grandsons Jake A. Goodman, Truitt A. Goodman, His sister Blanca Stewart and brother-in- law George Stewart, Nephews Patrick Stewart, Esteban A. Wright, Michael B. Wright, and Niece Sonia Curry.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Goodman, Jake A. Goodman, Larry Beckman, Jeff Doss, Noah Doss, Bryson Brown

Honorary Pallbearers will be Truitt A. Goodman, Patrick Stewart, CSM (Ret. Army) Jason P. Wright, Esteban A. Wright, Michael B. Wright

The Family would like to extend a special thank you to Home Care Services and Alberto’s long time Nurses: Denise Anslyn, Kathy Bielss, Kim Seelye, Sharon Thorpe, Sharon Coad, and Traci Stewart. To the Veteran’s Affairs Offices and Medical Center Staff of Waco and Temple, Texas. Also, to Kris Rhodes at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Saint Jude was Alberto’s patron saint.
