Andrew Louis Moncus

January 29, 1936 — February 15, 2021

Waco, Texas

At 3:20 pm on Monday, February 15th, 2021, our sweet Pop went to be with Jesus. For five days, all of his children and grandchildren were by his side. We shared many tears filled with precious memories and cheerful reminiscing. The Recitation of the Rosary will be recited at 6 P.M. Monday February 22, 2021, in the Chapel of Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr. by Father Benji.  Visitation will follow from 6:30 to 8 P.M.. The funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday February 23, 2021, in the Chapel of Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Don Gaylor and Carl Gulleys officiating.  Interment with Air Force Honors, if available, will follow in Bosqueville Cemetery.

He was the son of the late Andrew Louis and Mary Agnes Moncus. He grew up at Rock Creek, TX. After High School, he joined the Air Force and served in North Carolina and Korea. When he came home from overseas, he started driving a truck and got into the trucking business. In 1974 he started his business, Moncus Dirt & Gravel which he operated for over 35 years. He loved the entire Bosqueville community and especially the school where he served in many capacities. He served on the school board for over 43 years. When Bosqueville ISD was building the football stadium, he spent the entire summer along with others in the community, building the Bulldog stadium which was dedicated to him. He coached countless teams for youth baseball and softball through the years. Everyone was always welcome in his home. He enjoyed people and spending time with family and friends. He was one of a kind and touched many lives.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elois Moncus, his four children: Monica and husband Robby James, Shane Moncus, Allison and husband Jeff Cornell, Susanne and husband Daniel Cate and grandchildren: Maegan and husband Johnathon Kiebler, Hannah and husband Micah Jones, Drew and Luke Hayes, Tanner and Blake Moncus, Parker Moncus (deceased), Reid, Ryan and Rylie Cate, Texas and Justice Burgin, Emma and Elliott Cornell and great grandchildren: Breslen and Navy Kiebler. His sisters: Cathy Ashley, Regina and husband Bob Hawkins, Bernadette and husband Rick Cardenas and sister-in-law Norma Moncus along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Angie, Brittany, Valerie and Julia of Encompass home health who so lovingly cared for Louis. Also, Gwen and Melissa at Baylor S&W CHF Clinic.

For those desiring, the family has suggested Bosqueville ISD, 7636 Rock Creek Road, Waco, Texas 76708, for memorial contributions.
