Bubber John Collins

Bubber John Collins, 78, of Waco, passed away on August 9, 2022 at Ascension Providence Hospital. A
visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 6-8pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.
Bubber was born October 3, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to William and Gladys Collins. Growing up in
San Antonio, he loved spending time with his younger brother, Bill. He was an avid athlete, excelling in
football. He was named “Mr. Football” in high school and loved reminding everyone of it!
After graduating from high school, he attended Texas A&M University on a football scholarship as a full
back, playing under Coach Gene Stallings.
Bubber married Patricia Herron on May 14, 1966. Together they had three children, Jason, Jennifer and Heath.
For more than 30 years, Bubber was a pharmaceutical rep and made many lasting friendships over his career.
Bubber enjoyed football, taking motorcycle trips, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
He was proceeded in death by his son, Jason Collins.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, brother Bill Collins and wife Becky, daughter, Jennifer Cowan and
husband Kris Cowan, son, Heath Collins and wife Kristina Collins, grandchildren, Lauren and Seth Cowan,
and Michael and Ryan Collins.
The family would like to thank Drs. Sam Ralston and Thomas Harris for their support and care of Bubber.
