Carol (Attaway) Brummett

May 20, 1947 — September 21, 2021

China Spring, Texas

Carol Brummett, 74, of China Spring, passed away on September 21, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. A visitation will be 4-6 PM, Monday, Sep 27, 2021, at Grace Gardens  Funeral Home Chapel, with life long friend Lonnie Webb opening with a Word of Prayer.

Carol was born May 20, 1947 in Augusta, GA to John and Marjorie Attaway. Carol “Silly Grandma” was just that. She loved to cut up, dance, smile, sing, and just overall enjoy life. She loved taking cruises with her sister, going different places all across the US, fishing with her husband, and shopping! Out of everything in life, what she enjoyed most was visiting and being around her loved ones. The kids and grandkids were her world and she would do anything to make them smile. There’s a reason her nickname was “Silly Grandma”.

Carol was employed at Mrs. Baird’s Bakery in Waco before retiring in 2001. She not only worked but worked hard in production. People were amazed on how strong, strong minded, and determined she was. No one could tell her she couldn’t accomplish something because she would show them she could.

She was preceded in death by husband Carrel Brummett. Sister Joan Kelly with her husband John Kelly and Brothers Johnny and Joe Attaway. Children Michael Kelly with his wife Dee Dee Kelly, Michele Voss with her husband John Voss, Carey Kelly, Falon Essary with her husband Charles Essary, and Christina Garcia with her husband Miguel Garcia. “Silly Grandma” was blessed with a number of grandchildren. Stephanie, Elizabeth “Lizzy”, Lance, Courtney, Tanner, Trey, Megan, Diana, Emily, Cody, Jordyn, Ashely, and Jena.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the loved ones who have prayed, brought food, and/or called to check in.

The guest book is offered at www.gracegardensfuneralhome.com where you may leave your condolences or  a fond memory about Carol.
