Gail (Weatherall) Mairs

October 10, 1946 — June 1, 2022

Woodway

Gail Mairs, 75, of Woodway passed away at Providence Hospital surrounded by loved ones

after a long and gradual decline over the last several years. Services will be held Saturday,

June 11, 2022 at 12 P.M. with a visitation held the hour prior at Grace Gardens Funeral Home,

with Jeff Fritscher officiating. Gail was born on October 10,1946 to Robert “Bob” Henry and Maxine

Weatherall in Wichita Falls, TX. Gail loved to recall memories from time spent with numerous cousins

and loved ones in Wichita Falls, Henrietta, and Petrolia Tx. From catching tadpoles with Little Granny’s tea

strainer to refusing to conform with her wedding planner's request that she wear heels, it was

apparent that she had a mischievous zest for life. She knew from an early age that she had a

passion for serving and by the time she met her future husband, Jeff Mairs, in 1962 she already

knew she wanted to be a nurse. She graduated with her RN from John Peter Smith Hospital in

Ft. Worth in 1967. That same year she was united in holy matrimony to her husband and partner

for the last 55 years Jeff. She continued to work for JPSH for the next several years welcoming

her first son on July 23,1974, Jason.

In 1976 they embarked on their next adventure, ending up in Little Rock where she

furthered her career at University of Arkansas Sciences Medical Center. On May 18,1979 Gail

gave birth to son Joshua, and the Mairs family was complete. To say that she was an amazing

mother would be an understatement. Her sons and her husband were the light of her life and

she showered those around her with love, kindness, and acceptance regardless of

circumstances. Moving back to Ft Worth in 1980 with the family, Gail found her passion in

nursing while working as a labor and delivery nurse spending the next 15 years serving her

community and family. In 1995 the family relocated for the final time coming to rest in the Waco

area where she was a home health nurse and eventually retiring from Scott and White Temple

in 2012. She loved to spend her time traveling, trying new experiences, and loving her family.

She is preceded in death by her father Rober Henry Weatherall, mother Maxine Guthrie, sister

and multiple extended family members.

She is survived by her husband Jeff Mairs of Woodway, sons Jason Mairs of Woodway and

Josh & Kendra Mairs of Woodway. Grandchildren Brennan and Addison Mairs of Woodway,

William and Patricia Evans of Arlington and multiple nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Jason Mairs, Josh Mairs, Brennan Mairs, Jerry Herin, Marc Woodard
