James "Jim" O. Oliver

July 30, 1932 — March 1, 2023

James "Jim" O. Oliver, 90 of Navarro Mills, TX passed away on March 1, 2023 in Waco, TX. A visitation welcoming family and friends will be at Grace Gardens, Waco, TX, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday, May 13, 2022; Interment with military honors will be held at D/FW National Cemetery, Dallas TX (date pending)
Jim was born July 30, 1932 in Ocee, TX to Charles Messer Oliver & Geneva Jewel King Oliver. He grew up in Waco,Tx & graduated from Waco High School. After graduation Jim served in the Navy during the Korean War.

Following the Navy he returned to Waco, Tx & there he met the love of his life, Mary Evelyn George Oliver, they married in 1956. They lived in Waco & Robinson, TX before moving to Ft. Worth, Tx where they raised their two children Kathryn "Kathy" Lynn & James "Kevin". They also lived in Burleson, TX for several years.

Many years later they returned to the Waco area before moving on to Colorado for a few years. There they enjoyed living the small town mountain life, hiking & exploring the beauty of nature & the Rocky Mountains. They returned to the Waco, TX area and purchased land in Navarro Mills,TX where they retired to a Texas country lifestyle & continued to RV in Colorado. Before retirement Jim worked at General Tire, Waco; General Dynamics, Ft Worth; he was also in the auto parts business for many years retiring from AutoZone, Waco They are members of Blooming Grove Baptist Church in Blooming Grove, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles & Geneva Oliver. His sisters, Georgie, Faye, Genoa, Juaneva "Baby Sissy" and his brothers, Coleman, Herbert, Haney & Bill.
Jim is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Oliver of Navarro Mills, TX, his daughter Kathy Oliver of The Colony, TX, his son Kevin also of The Colony, TX, and many nieces and nephews.

Jim will be remembered for his contagious smile & laughter. His funny true life stories, love for his family, Colorado and his Baylor Bears. He is greatly loved by all that knew him & will be deeply missed.
