Joe Anne Wilbanks passed away peacefully on Sep 29, 2020 surrounded by her family, after a courageous prolonged battle with cancer. A visitation with the family will be from 2-4 pm, Saturday, October 3rd at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Social Distancing and wearing masks will be required. The family asks you to wear your craziest mask in honor of Joe Anne.
Joe Anne was born to Charles and Doris Joel on November 13, 1947 in Cleveland, Mississippi. She was a 1964 graduate of Forest Hill High School in Jackson, Mississippi. She married her Jr. High School Sweetheart; Darrell Wilbanks in 1964, the couple had two daughters. The family moved to Texas in 1972, where she began working at Huck Manufacturing and attending classes at MCC for Computer Programming. She retired from Huck after 38 years of service, in 2014.
Joe Anne enjoyed her work, and being with her family. She enjoyed travelling and the excitement of the casinos, making multiple trips to various locations with her husband. She loved to play video poker, and was able to play for hours at a time. Lacey, her four legged furry friend provided love and comfort.
Left to cherish her memories are her devoted husband of fifty six years; daughters, Angie White and husband Patrick, Vikki Dzamba and husband Mike; grandchildren, Brittney Linda and husband Matt, Brandon Dzamba; siblings, Charlie Joel, Jeff Joel and wife Toni; numerous members of her extended family and many friends.
The family wishes to express special thanks to all her caregivers at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest.
