Kelly Ray Oliver, 62, of McGregor, TX left this earth on December 28, 2020. A memorial will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Exchange Event Center in McGregor.
Kelly was born November 25, 1958 in Waco, TX to Eugene and Shirley (Fleming) Oliver. Kelly grew up in Crawford, TX playing football and working at Billy Miller’s Dairy. In addition to his family’s pool hall in Crawford.
After graduating Crawford High School, Kelly started welding at TSTI in Waco and then worked as a welder at Marathon for several years. Kelly’s experience and knowledge took him to the West Texas Oil Fields where he worked as a Class A Explosives Expert for many years. In 1994, Kelly returned home to Central Texas, where he worked at Davis Truck and Equipment in Clifton, TX for 10 years as a heavy equipment mechanic. Later working at Triple A Truck Service for 6 years as a Manager. Kelly also managed Main St. Auto and Truck Service in McGregor before going to work for the City of McGregor where he served as the Public Works Assistant Director and Fleet Manager.
Outside of his strong work ethic, Kelly was known by his friends and family as a leader, a fisherman, and a friend to everyone he met.
Kelly was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Michelle (Chelle) Oliver, his sister Diane Rice and husband Weldon, his three sons; Kelly Ray Oliver II and girlfriend Brandi; Gage Oliver and wife Chelsea; Kevin Knox; and one daughter Shannon Knox. Kelly is also survived by many beloved grandchildren, Desarae Cox, Kenneth Cox, Jason Groothoff, Jacob Hughes, Blake Barnes, Rylan Oliver, Khloe Oliver and Ambree Oliver.
He will be missed forever.
