Louis Joe Arechiga, passed away on February 14, 2021 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco, TX due to complications from the Covid-19 virus.

Born on November 18, 1954 to Robert and Gloria Arechiga of Waco, TX, Louis graduated from University High School and after graduating he joined the Army where he served a tour in both Korea and Europe. While serving in the military, Louis fell in love with military history and historical battles.

After working for Coca Cola for more than 20 years, Louis retired and was looking forward to spending his golden years with the love of his life Juanita along with collecting rare coins and historical military artifacts.

Over the years, Louis collected an extensive collection of historical currencies and weapons. Known to all as a history buff, he would spend hours talking about famous military battles and politics while sipping his collection of fine whiskeys but specifically enjoyed his hometown favorite, Balcones Whiskey. Louis, had a big and hearty laugh and was a friendly and familiar face to many in Waco.

Louis is survived by his wife, Juanita Arechiga; his sons, Louis Arechiga Jr., Eric Lopez and his daughter Deanna Arechiga; his parents, Robert and Gloria Arechiga; his sisters Margaret Hernandez and her husband Adam Hernandez Jr, Liza Hernandez and her husband Tom Hernandez, in addition to his stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony will be held for immediate family. It is Louis' dying wish that everyone wear a mask and spare innocent lives from covid-19 as every life is a precious gift.
