Lupe Rangel

Lupe Joseph Rangel Sr. went to be with Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the age of 69.  Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021, in the Chapel of Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive.  The most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Benji as Celebrant.   Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.  The family will hold a reception at Red Men Hall, 4521 Speight, Waco, 76711.

Mr. Rangel was born February 17, 1951, in Corsicana, Texas, the son of Panteleon and Juanita (Rincon) Rangel.  At an early age, the family moved to Waco, where he attended Waco High School and graduated in 1970 from University High School. Later, he studied business at McLennan Community College.  On October 31, 1974, he married the love of his life, Eloisa Guerra in Waco.

While attending MCC, he worked with the Red Cross as a Bloodmobile driver.  For about fourteen years, Lupe was employed by General Tire as a Passenger Tire Builder.  Later, for twenty-three years, Dillard’s employed him in the ladies shoe department where he met and assisted many customers.

Survivors include his wife of forty-six years, Eloisa Rangel, a son, Lupe Rangel, Jr. and wife Gilda of Pleasanton, daughters, Angie Rangel of Waco, Joanne Rhodes of Portland, TN; grandchildren, Jared Rocha, Justin Rangel, Jaelin Rocha, Max Rangel, Hannah Jones, Jamie Moss, Jessica McCaulley and Ethan Jones.  Brothers, Sam Rangel and wife Olga, Leon Rangel and wife Barbara, Andrew Rangel and wife Rosemary; and a sister, Virginia Carbajal.
