Obituary

Robert, Bob, Taylor, Dad, or whatever name you used, he answered to many variations, some we can’t list, was 68 when he passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2023.  He was deeply cherished and will leave an empty place in so many hearts.

Robert was born on May 7, 1955, in Bremerhaven, Germany to Irmgard Johana Oltersdorf.  His mother married Donald Taylor who adopted Robert.  He had a large personality, one that you would notice when he entered the room. He enjoyed being the focal point of attention and pushing the envelope, his home was known to many friends and good times.  Robert graduated from Wilbur D. Mills High School in 1973, had an excellent GPA and many close friends. His smile and qualities even earned the affection of his teacher, Mrs. Scotta Sheets, who was very hard to impress.

Robert married and had two children, Greg and Christy, that were the love of his life, as well as Tazzy and Sugar, his beloved pets. His love for golfing with his friends; JW (Jimmy Wright), Larry Carothers, Gary Branch and many others filled his life with joy and a camaraderie that lasted throughout his life.  He was dedicated to work, he enjoyed making people laugh and have a good time at work or play.  He felt there was always time to make someone laugh, including himself.  Robert remained true to himself and would not conform, you had to accept him as he was, which we admired and treasured.  He worked in the mobile home industry for 39 years making many friendships along the way.  His whole life he appreciated music and would share his favorites with everyone.

He was preceded in death by his mother; Irmgard Taylor, his father; Don Taylor, his two sisters; Donna Taylor and Tina Hepp.  Aunts; Hildegard (Charles F.) Schutte, and Ingrid Newmin.

Robert is survived by his children; Gregory M. Taylor and Christina L. Taylor, his former wife and their mother; Kim Clapper of Hewitt, TX.; Brother-in-law Kenneth Hepp of North Little Rock, AR.; Uncle Werner and wife Brigitte Oltersdorf of Bremerhaven, Germany; Cousins; Diane (Charlie) Chiarello, Denise (Jim) Carroll, Debbie Schutte, Chuck (Pam) Schutte, and Arne Oltersdorf.

A private celebration of life will be held for the family only and his ashes will be memorialized and laid to rest in Hope Cemetery, Perryville, AR beside his family.
