Roger Wayne Anthony

Roger Wayne Anthony, 52, most recently of Waco passed away on April 18th surrounded by family at Providence Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer and liver disease. His wishes were to be cremated and his remains will be interred at St. Peter's in Birmingham, AL.
Roger as born on June 7, 1970, to Rosie and Roger E. Anthony in Laconia, New Hampshire. His fondest early memories were of times spent trout fishing with his dad out in the open air. His family later moved to Plano, Texas, where he fell in love with wrestling and taught himself to code, which led him to ultimately begin a career as an entrepreneur in the Information Technology industry. Roger loved animals of all kinds-fish, amphibians and four- legged creatures. He was always taking in strays and rehabbing random turtles, snakes, opossums, and assorted felines. Roger loved being in nature. Scuba diving in the Caribbean, camping, hiking in the mountains. He often said he felt the most at peace once communing with God while at Pikes Peak. In addition to his outdoor adventures, Roger enjoyed providing hospitality and sharing good food with family and friends. Ever the gourmet, Roger prepared a beautiful standing rib roast with all the holiday sides for Christmas dinner this past year. Suspecting it might be his last Christmas, he put on a tremendous feast that delighted those who gathered.
Roger leaves behind his wife, Tiffany Steele Anthony, mother Rosie and step dad Mike Holman, as well as three children: Arianne, Jordan and Reagan and one grandchild, Ivy. Additionally grieving the loss are cousin and best friend Billy Cassis, Aunt Cathy, siblings-in-law Jennifer and Wes Eades, Brittany and Waldo Hernandez, Jason and Ashley Gregory, nephew Mateo Hernandez, and niece Alaina Gregory. Special friends including Dow & Laura Myers and Mark & Lisa Long have helped make Waco home in the past year since falling ill.
Preceded in death by his father, Roger E. Anthony, uncle Fred Toibero, and cousins, Bobby Cassis and Josh Towne.
Thank you to the staff of Providence hospital, especially the ICU team and finally the 4S and Providence Hospice folks who made sure Roger's last days and hours were peaceful and calm.
